If your barrel isn't already threaded then you either need a gunsmith to cut 1/2x28 threads or replace your barrel with a threaded one. Depending on the price of a gunsmith a new barrel might be economical and they are not very difficult to install. If your barrel is already threaded you're good to go; I have one of these for my 10/22 takedown that is factory threaded.
