Pat, the R1 has a dovetailed front sight so you wouldn't be able to mount this front sight as it is a tenon intended to fit in a mortise. You'll need to find a set intended specifically for the R1 which from meprolight would be model ML14040. And unfortunately it looks like that model is out of stock on Buds' right now, might find it on other sites.

That one will not work and for sights I suggest contacting Dawson Precision https://dawsonprecision.com/ and they will take care of you
