Yes it is Nickel that can be polished not painted.

Tim - it is nickel plated. I'm sure you could find someone who would cerakote it for you, if you want. It can be polished, but the degree of 'sheen' will be determined by the original finish .. in other words, it is what it is. I've seen it described as "It's not the sleekest, lightest, or prettiest, but it is dependable and works! In the end, that's all that matters!" It is a budget firearm.
