No it is not ammo picky however may 1911s take 300-500 rounds of ammo before the get reliable

David, the Sigs have tested with various design howwow points very well. Will it shoot any hollow point reliably, probably not. I would test for ammunition you plan to carry and when you find that favorite load, stock up then.

We have several and all but one eats anything you throw at it. Typical 1911. Your pistol will run 100% with some load for sure.
