Aaron, If you could you would need a $200 tax stamp to SBR it. Might be able to find something aftermarket. I am not aware of a short barrel for this firearm.

Aaron, Anything less than a 16" Barrel changes the classification from a "Rifle" to a SBR "Short Barreled Rifle" which would be an NFAregulated firearm at this point. You would need to Pay a $200 Tax Stamp and Register it as an NFA firearm. This process could take up to 6 to 9 months. This is so you would not book an unwanted reservation at Club Fed.

if you take the barrel to less than 16 inches you would need paperwork and a tax stamp from the ATF to own a Short Barrel Rifle. a good gunsmith can almost always shorten a barrel

Aaron - this rifle is barely legal as is - with the 16.2" barrel. Anything shorter would be a ;'short barrel rifle' per the ATF. I seriously doubt you will fin a gunsmith who will shorten this barrel for you, unless you obtain the $200 AFT tax stamp to build a Short Barrel rifle.
