Patrick, The top of the barrel is drilled and tapped to accept a Weaver 82 scope base (sold separately). In addition to the optics option, these rifles ship with a set of useful iron sights.

Patrick, yes Sir the Barrel is "Drilled and Tapped" from the Factory. The rear sight must be removed on all models in order to provide clearance for the base.
