Doug, there will be no issues with hollow points due to the barrel hood and throat design. Other than the BG slide smoothness and slightly better trigger pull, there is no other reason that the Spectrum would not be a good carry candidate. As the saying goes, different strokes for different folks. I happen to own 5 Taurus handguns and am satisfied with all of them. Just pick what feels right for you Sir.
It will be a good pocket carry gun. My biggest issue with Taurus is that the keep changing the product line and not supporting their older guns with thing like magazines and springs that wear out.
Doug, Any choice is a good choice if it works for you. I would put 1000+ rounds through it at the range with no problems to totally trust it to carry. Over 5000 rounds through my 709 slim with all types of ammo, no problem ever beside front sight getting loose. Easy fix. Trust it as an EDC often. Spectrum will certainly fit in your pocket. And you can get any color you want.
