Other than what the photos shows and single difference seen in specs, shows 500.01 has forward assist and says direct impingement and shows a metal mag. The $604 one shows a pmag instead of metal, has no forward assist, does not speak of direct impingement but i assume it is still D.I. but what real makes the differences between these to msr 15 patrol rifles that is $103 difference worth???

The forward assist is gone, and a mill spec trigger, instead of an enchanced, lighter pull, trigger. Personal opinion: I've never used my forward assists in 20 years on my ARs, and saving that $100 could go toward a Timney or Geissele trigger for it.

Other than "forward assist" these are identical. One would think the model with forward assist would be the higher priced one. I think Buds may actually have the pricing "Backwards" on this one, in my opinion. And even if backwards, that would be one expensive forward assist!
