Thomas, pistol with a brace is correct. In its factory configuration no stamps are required, it is handled just like any other handgun. Adding a vertical foregrip would make it an AOW as it is under 26" overall length, and replacing the brace with a stock would render it an SBR and either of those situations would require a Form 1.

Thomas, Yes this is a pistol with a pistol brace. No tax stamp or form 1 in this configuration. If you want to modify with fore grip or stock to make it an SBR (short barrel rifle) or AOW (any other weapon) ypu would need to fill out form 1 and pay $200 tax stamp and wait until everything goes through to make the changes.

Thomas, no Sir. With the "Brace" instead of an actual "Stock", this is classified as a standard "Pistol". No Tax Stamp or NFA paperwork needed for purchase.

it is a pistol with a brace and does not require a NFA stamp. If it had a stock (not a brace) it would then require the stamp as a short barrel rifle
