Trying to decide between this V7 and the V7 LW. What's the difference between this model and the LW version of this rifle except for weight? Is the LW version better if you're a beginner or smaller? Or is it just preference?

Erik, it is just preference. Other than Weight of 6.2lbs and Weight of 6.05 lbs (due to weight savings of the LW having a 16" Cold Hammer Forged CMV Lightweight Profile Barrel  and the standard DDM4v having a Chrome Lined/Mil-Spec Heavy Phosphate Coated barrel), they are identical otherwise. I would prefer the heavier barrel for accuracy and longevity.
