Never used an AR before. Just ordered the DPMS Panther. Would like to put a bipod on it. Do I neeed this or is there a bipod that would work without an adapter. Need to spend a little more for free shipping.

Randal, it will work if your AR-10 has a Standard Round Handguard. If you have an M-LOK, Key-Mod or Quad Rail you would just use a Picatinny based Bi-Pod.
