The tapered shoulder has been used on both generations of the MPX so far. Some muzzle devices index off the end of the muzzle instead of the shoulder in which case the shoulder profile doesn't matter much, and for other devices that won't fit the taper they do make tapered washers to simulate a square shoulder, still not ideal.
