Daryl, maybe as a "Training" Tool? Build the discipline and accuracy first of a beginner is what comes to mind. I was started on a "Single Shot" myself. Cheers!
when I start new shooters I like to only allow them to load 1 round in the magazine. I have seen to many people who have never shot freak out the 1st time. with the single shot if the wave the gun around after shooting I can calmly correct them and explain the proper procedures if they have a loaded gun I am not so calm this mag ensure that safety drill
No clue, Seems like a waste to me too buddy lol
The single shot magazine is listed as ideal for training on the Ruger site. However some of the local clubs in our area allow the 10-22 with the single shot magazines to compete with the single shot bolt rifles. The red magazine helps every one know that it can only be used as a single shot.
