Martin, yes this has a 3" chamber and a thick, heavy-walled barrel to boot so it should handle whatever you put through it. Will also beat up your shoulder though.

Martin, yes Sir. I any Mossberg 590A1 has a "Heavy Barrel" (What the A1 means) and will safely fire Magnum Slugs without issue.
