I went to a local gun store because I thought they had this gun on a crazy sale. Turns out it was a more compact single stack clip which made the handle to thin for my grip. I just want to make sure I'm getting the right gun.

Robert, The magazine in this 4" barrel 45 ACP S&W M&P firearm utilizes a double stack magazine. The S&W you were looking at must have been in the Shield line.
