Loyd, they are similar. The Venture has a 22" match grade barrel with 5R rifling while the Compass has a 22" free float match grade barrel with threaded muzzle and thread protector.

I've handled and shot both. The biggest difference is the trigger. The Venture is easier to shoot because of the better trigger.
