Hugens, If you replace carbine length gas block with a low profile gas block that fore end hand guard goes over you could use a variety of lengths up to 12". If you keep the factory gas block then 7" handguard would fit. Remove handguard. Separate lower and upper. Drive out gas tube roll pin. Remove gas tube. Remove muzzle device. Remove sight base/gas block slide it off barrel. Using AR wrench and breaker bar remove barrel nut along with delta ring assembly. Install new free float barrel nut. Tighten to 35lbs with torque wrench.
