Joseph, your 9mm pistol is highly likely to function just fine with the .38 Super Magazine. I use MecGar .38 Super magazines in my double stack RIA 9mm 1911 with absolutely zero malfunctions. This pistol was shipped with a .38 Super mag because it also comes with a barrel chambered in .22TCM which is a longer cartridge than 9mm and all functioned fine in the .38 Super mag.
They will more likely than not function. The 38 Super is a parallel wall case and the 9mm is tapered so the 9's tend to nose down. As long as they hit the feed ramp and slide up they will work. We load our 9's longer than factory for major power factor and use 38 super mags.
I use 38 super mags in my RIA 9mm 1911 with no issues the 22TCM uses a modified 38 super mag as the 22tcm is to long for a 9mm mag that is why RIA came out with the 22tcm9r cartridge it is a 22tcm with a shorter bullet to fit in 9mm mags
