yes it is CA legal "All rimfire caliber rifles with magazine capacity of 10 rounds or fewer (e.g.: .22 LR, 17HMR, etc.) are permitted, excluding rifles with tubular magazines in lever-action firearms, which do not have magazine restrictions.
