Darence, If you can open carry I would choose another round to carry then a rim fire 22lr handgun. Find a good OWB holster and you can carry about anything.
Darence, for open carry you likely will be much better off with the similar sized 9mm version here : https://www.budsgunshop.com/catalog/product_info.php/products_id/23242/walther+arms+creed+9mm+4+16%2b1+black+grip+blk
it depends on why you want to open carry it for walking in the woods it will be fine for a self defense gun the 22lr is not enough unless that is all you have or can physically shoot
Darence - one could 'open carry' this if desired ... but if carrying for self-defense, it is a pretty poor choice. A 9mm, or even a .380, would be much better for defense. Using a 22LR for defense requires precise shots into the most vital areas of the target - and in a defense situation, one is usually not able to take the time necessary to perform such precise aiming of the firearm. Get yourself a S&W shield, a Springfield XD, or a glock in 9mm.
