Brayden, Absolutely you can modify a quality 1911 how ever you want. Whatever mods you make. Get the firearm and fire and use it quite a bit before you start putting mods into it. Make sure it's the firearm you want to mod.

yes you can with no issues just be careful fitting the new barrel if you go that route 1911s are not plug and play
