Richard, Most bullets in ammunition are not steel. They are almost all lead or copper clad lead. Very seldom see steel bullets in ammunition. Not arguing, but I don't know one indoor range that allows steel casing. They recycle casings and can not have aluminum or steel contaminate recycled brass. You can buy 99% of ammunition and not have magnetic (steel) bullet in a casing to make up the round.

And yes, this is taking into consideration the bullet only.

Richard - if it isn't designated as 'steel core' on the package, pretty much any domestic commercial ammo is 'non-magnetic'. I am not aware of any bullet that is 'magnetic' other than some of the .223/556 "green tip" ammo. Like Michael, though, I have not found any indoor ranges that allow steel cased ammo.
