Curtis, the Trigger Guard is Plastic, and the receiver milled from solid billet steel for maximum strength.

Curtis, Receiver is the classic 870 quality milled from an 11 lb solid steel. The trigger guard is very sturdy heavy duty polymer. When you hold it you wouldn't even notice it is not steel.
