Just bought a Bergara Woodsman in 6.5 cdm. The stock has an oil finish and could use a bit more work. I have asked Bergara but they have not answered as to what type of oil was used. I need to know so I apply the correct finish on top of that. For example, Permalyn goes on well over a drying oil base but does not do well over a non-drying oil finish, such as staright linseed oil.
Hoping someone has an answer.

I am sorry I have searched everywhere I can think of and the only answer I can find is its a "hand" rubbed oil finish again I am soory but you will just have to keep trying the get the info from Bergara

Robert, I would give it some time. Rub it down with a soft cloth and just apply a wood finish compatible firearm treatment like Ballistol or Rem Oil.
