Hi Mervin, yes, this pistol is CA approved. :   http://certguns.doj.ca.gov/

The finish of B/SS has no bearing. If you need to verify, It will be up to your dealer as they will be the determining source. Buds and all other retailers have this listed as CA compliant. However, your dealer will have to verify what they will/will not take. I see no reason they would not in this case.
