Trying to decide between these two pistols. It will be used for sport shooting for the next 15 years or so and then given to my son as an heirloom. Knowing that they dont make the Valor anymore, is there a good reason to purchase it instead of the Pointman? I can get a new Valor for about $200 less than a Pointman. Which one would you buy? Thanks!

Gwyn, The Valor would be my choice. Both are fantastic pistols and will meet your needs. My choice is based on your future gift as an heirloom. The Valor will be more suited for that purpose in the grand scheme of that and it's value.

The Pointman is the top choice of USPSA/IPSC competitive shooters. The Valor wasn't selling well so it was discontinued. It's still a good pistol. Just won't put you at the top of your game.

Gwyn, As I responded to your previous question the Pointman would be my choice to shoot or compete with. The Valor if you just want to have a collectible in the safe even though it is a good shooter. Both great firearms.
