Rusty, Yea you can remove the safety. Just like you could remove any part of the gun like grip or barrel, but why? You do not want to remove the safety on this firearm. New to 1911s? The safety is an integral part of the 1911 manual of arms. If you want to remove ambi safety feature and replace with single sided safety fine.
