David, Any .357 mag revolver can also chamber and fire .38 special rounds. So yes this wheel gun will handle .357 mag or .38 special. Now you can not fire .357 mag out of a .38 special only revolver.

David, Both Sir. A 38 Special is just a shorter case compared to the longer 357 Magnum Case. Same concept of a 3 inch chambered 12 gauge being able to fire both 3 inch shells and the shorter 2.75 inch shells. No worries firing either .357 or 38 Special.
