Ben, this one is a Rifle as it is a Remington 700 Receiver Sir.

At this time they are considered rifle receivers. They have recently brought out the 700 CP ( about $1100) which is a bolt action pistol based on their short action 700 receiver in .223, 300 BO and 308 win. but no receiver is available at this time.
