I realize you can't buy this gun in CA, but if I bought it in Texas and drove it back to CA, would it be legal for me to be in possession of?

New California Law As of January 1, 2015, a law in California supplants the federal law. It, too, prohibits California residents from buying guns out of state and simply driving home with them (or shipping them home).

no while interstate sale of long guns are legal by Federal law the sale must be legal in both states  and this gun is not legal in CA
