Was thinking of using a 180 factory ammo for deer hunting with my 357 magnum revolver but any suggestions on bullet weight and type and brand are welcome as I am new to handgun hunting

I would use the 158 to 180gr XTP bullet. It expands, is deep penetrating and a proven hunting load. Underwood ammunition is my recommendation. Here  :  https://underwoodammo.com/product-category/handgun-ammo/357-magnum/

Buffalo Bore 180gr FN. Deeeep penetration (if not through) ,  no break up. Proven again and again.
