I never used them, but I would definitely try them for deer. I like the 180 grain Hornady XTP for deer.

These will be good out to about 75 to 100yds max. Hunting with the 357 Magnum or any handgun caliber will mostly be about "Shot Placement". A true story, I have a Taurus 6inch 357Mag that I load with 158gr XTP from Underwood Ammunition. This is a monster load. In 2016 I am in a deer stand and line up on a 6 point mature buck at 50yds. I pull the trigger and I don't get the BOOM I'm used to with this load. The deer runs approximately 40yds and piles up. i check my cylinder and realize I forgot to exchange my light target load for my normal hunting load. Since my shot was accurate the deer doesn't know the difference as dead is dead. Yes proper hunting loads will give you better results, but shot placement will always be key.

What James said is true but the same can be said for a 22lr on deer. I think its wiser to get the most powerful load your gun will safely fire to make sure that deer drops even if your shot is a little off the mark.
