If I buy this M&P 15 in the promo kit, will I be able to upgrade things such as the hand guard, grip, stock and rail in the future? I am budget limited to the $500 price range at the moment but I want to at least get the rifle bought. Is this model upgrade-ready? Thanks in advance.

Yes it is fully upgradable but I suggest shooting it as it is for a while and then change what you really want/need  to upgrade
