will it work yes is it the best bullet for deer no in my opinion it is on the light side and I would prefer a 100 grain bullet

Shaun, varmint bullets are not recommended for deer. They are usually thin jacket, high velocity and designed to literally explode/expand on impact and will cause shallow wounds and destroy more meat than necessary (they were designed for varmints as you know). It will put seer down in 243 but you will want minimum meat destruction.
