No. Actually, the Glock 17 was Glock's 17th patent. Glock didn't start off making guns. Glock made other products like timepieces. It is just coincidence that the pistol has a capacity of 17 rounds. With the others, I can only assume they're also the patent numbers. You might want to contact Glock if it's really that important.
Robert, The model numbers start with Gaston Glock's 17th patent. They the sequentially move up in order they were produced except X model. G18 (full auto), G19, G19X G20, G21, G22, G23, G24, G25 (32 ACP), G26, G27, G29, G30, G31, G32, G33, G34, G35, G36, G37, G38, G39, G40, G41, G42, G43, G43X, G45, G48 some models with long slide, MOS, undercut, compensated, ported models and several number gaps. Probably missed some, but over 50 total models with all combinations. Nothing to do with magazine capacity.
