I like the brushed stainless finish, but this one is also noted as "CA Compliant."  What's that mean as far as revolvers go?

Robert,  The short answer is that Colt paid for it to be tested and certified by the california DOJ.  Look up california Code of Regulations, title 11, section 4070 for more details on the requirements imposed.

Robert, nothing special othe ryhan it has been submitted by S&W and has passed all CA requirements. Revolvers are easier to certify than Semi-Auto's.
