All ammo I have ordered shipped in a plain brown box that isn't easily identifiable other than the fact that it must be marked ORM-D for hazardous materials. I have never personally nor have I known anyone that needed to sign for ammo, it is delivered just like a regular parcel. If you are concerned at all about where it shows up you could just monitor the tracking information once the number is posted and then have it held at the nearest Fedex facility for pickup.
I have never signed for ammo shipped to me it came in a brown box with the hazmat/explosive sticker
HazMat laws changed about a year ago. Ammo will be shipped in a box with a class 9 HazMat sticker. It's a white diamond and may have a shippers declaration of the type of goods inside. ORM-D is a thing of the past and no longer allowed. ORM-D did have to be marked "Small Arms Cartridges."
