David, Yes you always get option to buy insurance when you click the shipping option tab. Thousands of orders and the option of shipping with insurance or not pops up every time for me. Just select and click the box of shipping cost with no insurance.

yes you can during the checkout process you will have 2 options (with or without insurance) to me it is worth it at $1.00 per $100.00 coverage
