Randy, yes Sir it will fire the shorter 38 Special cartridge no issue.

Randy, Yes all .357 Magum revolvers can fire the shorter 38 Special. Lot of 357 Mag people use the 38 Special rounds at the range.

Yes all .357 revolvers can fire the shorter .38 special rounds. just clean the cylinder good after use to prevent a carbon buildup that would prevent you from being able to insert the longer .357 mag rounds (would take a lot of 38 specials)
