It will work just fine however the velocity will be lower and the recoil may be sharp

James, It has to do with the slower burning powder used in this load. All the powder does not burn in short barrels. Designed to be optimal full burn in 5" barrels. Can use it in anything, but short barrels will give you a flash and less velocity.
