Double action for sure. Put it in some sort of little holster like a Sticky to so the trigger cannot accidently be accessed.

Kenneth, It's all about you, but double action means you really want to pull the trigger to fire the piece. Get a good holster and practice the DA trigger pull and you will be golden. If you want a single action like a 1911, IMI 941F, or Browning type Hi Power then you got to get comfortable handling the safety to carry cocked and locked. It all up to you, but not many single action pistols will fit in your pocket. Lot of striker fired options. I love my Sig P250 Sub Compact double action.

Kenneth, there will probably be as many different answers as there are handgun actions Sir. Everyone will have a preference. I would just practice and become intimately familiar with your favorite pocket carry piece and equip it to be as safe for pocket carry as you can.

You are going to get different answers. That topic, though controversial, is all up to you. I believe in training. If you trade more with a double action then I would recommend a double action, but if you train more with a single action then I would recommend a single action. Now if you have a firearm that is both double action and single action, such as a Sig Sauer P226, then I would highly recommend training a lot with that. Also, the type of holster it's also part of the equation. Drawing from a concealed position is something that needs to be practiced a lot.
