I don't ever answer questions but I knew this one which is why I'm answering. The takedown levers used to take off the slide are used in this case to turn theblaser on and off by pressing one side in. Batteries im not sure. I never tested it. But they should last a long time because realistically how often will they be used? This reolaces the Glock spring. You only take it apart when you clesn the glock or replace batteries. If youbrarely use the glock then you rarely have to do anything.

So, basically, this does replace the factory spring. Also, you only need to take it apart when necessary. If you need to change a battery then you have to take it apart. If you're going to clean the gun then you just do a basic Field Strip you don't have to dismantle the spring. The levers that are located on the frame of the pistol are replaced with this brand. They protrude a little more for a better grip and that is how you turn on the laser by pressing either side of the lovers.

The laser turns on by using the tabs on the side that replace the tabs the take down tabs. This is not just a laser it's the entire spring and Laser so you would just have to replace the stock one that comes from the factory. You only have to take it apart as many times as you want to. Unless you're going to change a battery or clean the spring or something.

It turns on with replaced levers on the side. It replaces the Glock rod. You take it apart whenever you want or need to. Battery life unsure.
