If I were to buy this. Could I request to get one that doesn't have a ton of holster wear? I don't care whether or not it is the one with a rail. I just don't want a gun that looks as though it has been put through the ringer.

Bryan, you can always refuse the transfer if there is anything on the pistol you do not like(Buds will then replace or refund, your choice) (Buds does not Hand Pick). This should not be the case as reviews have been Stellar.  Example Review: Ordered one of these 229's and there is not a mark on it. After field stripping, and looking the pistol over, I don't think it was ever fired. Great service, great price, and an easy transaction. Highly recommended.

I believe these are certified preowned which means they go back to sig and are inspected and refinished before being resold
