All USPs feature a fiber-reinforced polymer frame stiffened by stainless steel inserts at areas subject to stress and friction. HK pioneered this use of polymer materials in the production of handguns more than 30 years ago with the development of the VP70Z and P9S pistols. Using a modified Browning-type action with a special patented recoil reduction system, the USP recoil reduction system reduces recoil effects on pistol components and also lowers the recoil forces felt by the shooter. The USP recoil reduction system is insensitive to ammunition types and requires no special adjustment or maintenance. Variant 1 is double action/single action with SAFE position; control lever (manual safety/decocking lever) is mounted on left side of the frame. This is variant 3 (V3). The trigger is a double action/single action. Depending on how you operate the firearm, generally, the first pull of the trigger is the heavy double action. All following trigger pulls will be a light single action pulls, unless you decock the firearm with the decocker, thus putting the trigger back into its double action functionality.

Keith, This is the V3 variant with decocker only on left side. The DA/SA trigger pull is long take up and 11 lb pull on DA. SA is between 6 to 7 lb pull with fairly long reset. Does not have the LEM trigger.
