Roshelle, Yes you can remove the compensator. The barrel is not threaded. The muzzle device is fastened to the end of barrel by screw/fastener on bottom of device to tighten it on or loosen it to remove. Using a 9/64" hex key, remove the compensator screw and nut. With a back and forth twisting motion, remove the compensator from the barrel.
