I bought this rifle during our last election when everybody thought you wouldn't be able to buy them much longer. I paid about $1,100.00 for the gun. The sport II appears to have the same specs for about $500.00. Why is this?

the sport II is the S&W entry level AR15 and does have less expensive parts a before the last election the Sport II was selling in the $700.00 range the prices have come down on AR15s
