I like all Federal rounds but what you picked here is a great defensive round.

Your pistol can handle any factory 45 load. 230gr FMJ for practice and 185gr +P JHP for self-defense. You can use 230gr JHP for self-defense as well, but you will have faster follow up shots using the 185gr JHP due to lower recoil.
