Adam, The process is going to be the same. If you buy at BUDs or local this SBR will sit at your FFL until the paperwork is all processed by the ATF. I have had stuff sitting at my FFL since March. And I'm planning on waiting a few more months. You can buy where ever you want you still have to wait on paperwork being processed.
Adam, To go along with last response. You may not understand the process. BUDs explain it here.-----https://www.budsgunshop.com/NFAGuidelines.pdf
Adam, it would be easier to go local but, Buds will assist you through the process as well : https://www.budsgunshop.com/NFAGuidelines.pdf
It's a lot easier if they have it with a stabilizing brace it will be a pistol and you could take it home the day you buy it. SBR's are a pain in the butt you can't cross state lines with them without notifying law enforcement. I went with a pistol AR 15 instead of an SBR's
