This gun is a .357 MAGNUM … .38 +P while high power (high pressure) for .38 it doesn't compare to the much more powerful (higher pressure) .357 mag. So any gun rated for .357 mag can easily handle .38 +P ammo. If you get a gun stamped .38 Special make sure it is rated for +P … if it says .357 magnum there is no issue with any .38 special round.
