Wilfred, This Federal Hydra-Shok is a fine round for personal defense. Many people utilize this round for self defense. For under a buck and being a full metal jacket hollow point you could do a lot worse. One of my favorites. This round will function fine in your G21.
Well, that will be up to you. My Glock 21 cycles these with ease. I've shot at least 200 rounds of these just to make sure. They cost more than usual but for self defense you can't really complain about price. These are great rounds for what they are.
Wilfred, the Federal Hydra-Shok are excellent rounds. They are clean burning, consistent low velocity spreads between rounds and effective for self defense. I would give serious consideration to the new Remington Golden Sabre Black Belt also : https://www.budsgunshop.com/product_info.php/products_id/99359/remington+ammunition+gsn45apc+golden+saber+45+acp+230+gr+jacketed+hollow+point
These will definitely function on a Glock 21. If you plan to carry these for self-defense I recommend you shoot a good amount of them just to make sure they function perfectly in your handgun.
